Side by Side Entry

This PaperSave feature allows you to directly associate the workflow item to the Dynamics GP record. Side by side entry option will appear only when the selected Workflow step has defined "Can Associate" Activity as true.

 

Follow the below steps to perform Side by side entry:

1) Open PaperSave Workflow Area by clicking on Open Workflow from PaperSave Menu in Dynamics GP or option within PaperSave Windows Client.

2) Select the desired workflow and the step where you have defined 'Can Associate' activity as true.

3) Now, click on the ID hyperlink or double click on the item to view in the Workflow item viewer. On the top level toolbar, you will see Start Side by Side Entry option as shown in the below screen.

 

 

4) Before performing side by side entry, you can change its settings from the Settings Panel as shown in the below screen.

 

  • The Side by Side Entry Settings contain the options such as

Action to execute after associating documents in this session: You can define the workflow event that should occur once you perform Side by Side Entry.

Prompt for which action to execute after associating documents: When this option is enabled, you will get the prompt to select workflow event should occur after Side by Side Entry.

Note: By default this option is enabled, but in case you had checked "Don't ask me again" then you can enable from the settings.

Associate future documents automatically without prompting: When this option is enabled, the document will automatically get associated to the Dynamics GP record without prompting any confirmation when clicked on PaperSave Add document from Dynamics GP record.

Note: By default, this option is disabled.

 

 

5) Now, click on Start Side by Side Entry option and you will get the "Action to execute..." prompt as shown below.

Note: Make sure Dynamics GP is open while performing Side by Side Entry. If the Side by Side Entry operation is started, then the title of the option will be changed to Stop Side by Side Entry. You can click on it once your document is successfully associated to Dynamics GP record.

 

 

6) You can select the workflow action from the drop down list and click on Ok. You can check "Don't ask me again" to stop getting the prompt.

7) Now, go to Dynamics GP and open the record for which we had performed Side by Side Entry. (For example: Purchasing > Receivings Transaction)

 

 

8) Click on Additional option and select PaperSave Add document from the list. Now, it will prompt a confirmation dialog box to Add document using side by side entry as shown in the below screen.

 

 

9) Click on Yes to associate the document and No to cancel the operation.

10) Once the item is successfully associated, it will auto raised the Workflow event for the added workflow item.

11) Now, you can click on Stop Side by Side Entry, exit the item viewer or close the browser to stop the side by side entry operation.
